Downloading
Tenant Pro 5.0
Be
sure to install the same Service Release on all computers from which you
access Tenant Pro.
The
purpose of this fax is to simplify your task of Downloading updates to
the Tenant Pro program. Your basic instructions, detailed below, include
the following:
- Logging
onto the Internet and accessing the web site for Property Automation
Software Corporation.

Downloading the Service Release file.

Uncompressing the file.
-
Opening your file with the updated version of the program.
Stage
1 - Before you begin:
- Write
down the name and location of your data file, which is shown on the
blue title bar of your Tenant Pro program. It will read something similar
to C:\Tenant Pro\MyDataFile.df1
- Close
your Tenant Pro program.
Stage
2 - Negotiating the website:
- Go
to http://www.tenantpro.com

On the main page click on the “Downloads” link along the
top of the page.

Click on the “5.0 Release” link on the Left side of the
screen.
- Accept
the License Agreement.
- You will
be told that Tenant Pro must be closed before installing the service
release. Close your Tenant Pro program at this time if you have not
already done so.
- Click
Accept to begin downloading the file.
Stage
3 - Downloading the file:
1. Next is
a question: What would you like to do with this file? (XP Users will receive
a screen asking if you want to save or open the file.) Leave the 2nd option
selected, which reads: Save this program to disk. (XP Users, click on
the SAVE button). Please note: This will save the update file directly
to the hard drive. Please do not try to save this to a diskette. Now,
click on the [OK] push-button. This now places you on a window titled
Save As, with a field heading of Save in:
2. Click on the down-arrow to the right of the Save in: field. Select
the option DESKTOP. (Then click on the [Save] push-button.) If you haven’t
previously downloaded the update, this will start the Download process.
3. If you have previously downloaded and already have a copy of TP_Updt5.exe
in this folder, you will receive a message asking you: Replace existing
file? Click on the [Yes] push-button to continue the download.
Stage
4 - Uncompressing the Update File:
- Make sure
you have exited Tenant Pro, along with all other programs.
- Look
on your Desktop for the file TP_Updt5.exe and double-click it.
- You should
now be on a window labeled “WinZip Self-Extractor (TP_Updt5.exe).
- Browse
to the location of your Tenant Pro software.
- Click
on the UNZIP Button to install the Service Release into the directory
where you have Tenant Pro installed.
- When
the install is finished, you will see a message indicating that the
files were unzipped successfully.
- Close
the WinZip window and launch Tenant Pro
- If you
get the “Change Data File” window, browse to the location
of your data file that you wrote down in Stage 1 : Step 1.
Note:
If you have previously downloaded an update, you will receive various
prompts for overwriting files, please click the YES button for each of
these prompts. If you have not previously downloaded the update, then
the files will simply be unzipped and placed in your folder.
